“Data is a campfire around which organizations huddle for heat and light. The irony is in the fact that neither the heat nor the light yield a solution. The solution emerges out of the huddling”

 Your Division hosts a well-attended Dine and Learn Event on AAA screening  Your office decides to implement active screening on all males over age age 65 who have smoked

 You and your colleagues understand the value of reflective exercises for continuous quality improvement. You wonder if your attendance at the CME has made a difference to your practice.

 A few months later, your Board however is struggling with its budget.  As your Division is part of the Physician Data Collaborative; you decides to find out what, if any, practice changes resulted from the Dine and Learn event.

 Answer clinical questions of interest to frontline practicing physicians  Enable clinical quality improvement activities and CME reflective practice  Produce data to drive and evaluate Divisional initiatives  Answer population health questions that may assist health system management and improve patient care

 Your Division decides to continue with Dine and Learn sessions

At your Collaborative Services Committee your Health Authority has asked the Division for suggestions about where they can focus their recent goal of Smoking Cessation.
