Forces A push or a pull Contact – 2 objects touching Non-contact – force applied without touching

Contact Forces Applied force (one object directly pulls or pushes another) Elastic force (force exerted by a compressed or stretched object) Normal force (support force exerted on an object that touches another stable object)

Non-Contact Forces Electric Magnetic Gravity

Gravity A non-contact attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass Based on mass and distance As the mass of objects increases, gravitational force increases As distance between masses increases, gravitational force decreases
