EXOCRINE SYSTEM Composed of exocrine glands whose secretions pass into a duct that lead to the exterior of the body.

SALIVARY GLANDS Secrete saliva that help in partial digestion of food

SUDORIFEROUS GLANDS Secrete perspiration that contains excess H 2 O, body heat, salt, andnitrogen ous waste

SEBACEOUS GLANDS Secrete SEBUM or oil that protect the skin and the hair

LACHRYMAL GLANDS Secrete tear that protects and lubricates the eyes

MAMMARY GLANDS Milk-secreting organ of female mammals Small glands in and around the nipple provide lubrication and protection against infection, which is particularly important for breast-feeding mothers.

MAMMARY GLANDS Human Female Breast

CERUMINOUS GLANDS Secrete cerumen or wax that protects and lubricates inner ear canal

PHLEGM GLANDS Secrete mucus that lubricates the respiratory tract

GASTRIC GLANDS Secrete digestive juices that aid in digestion of food

LIVER Secrete bile that aids in the breaking down of fats into small components

PROSTATE GLAND Secretes fluids that nourish the sperm

COWPER’S GLANDS Secrete fluid that lubricate and neutralize the acidity in the urethra

SEMINAL VESICLE secrete a significant proportion of the fluid that ultimately becomes semen

SEMINAL VESICLE the thick secretions contain proteins, enzymes, fructose, mucus, vitamin C, flavins, phosphorylcholine and prostaglandins.

VESTIBULAR GLANDS Secrete a substance that lubricates the vagina during coitus
