6 Brief Introduction Our chapter was founded in 2002 with 13 undergraduate and 2 graduate students. Now we have 14 undergraduate and 4 graduate students. Pre-registration members for 2006:20 undergraduate.

7 Activities For kids age within named “Optics for Kids” For undergraduate students named “Optical Instruments and Their Applications.”

8 Optics for Kids 1) 11th April: Eyuboglu College Observatory Journey.  The observatory has the second biggest telescope in Turkey.  Our aim was to demonstrate telescopes.  We observed the Sun

11 2) 18th April: Teaching Telescope Making  The kids learnt how to make telescope  They made their own telescopes

14 3) 2nd May: Science Festival for Kids  The festival took one day long  We demonstrated mostly optical instruments such as telescopes, lenses, microscope etc.  We made also some experiments from the Optics Discovery Kit, which we got from OSA.

20 Optical Instruments and Their Applications for Undergraduates 1) Trip to Eyuboglu College Observatory  We made another journey to Eyuboglu College Observatory with undergraduate students at Koc University.  We introduced telescopes and made observation.
