© Food – a fact of life 2007 A recipe is made up of 3 parts: a list of all the ingredients needed (metric); a list of all the equipment ; the method, i.e. how to make the dish. Writing a Recipe

© Food – a fact of life 2007 A recipe may also include: a picture of the final product; serving suggestions, e.g. how to present the dish or ideas for accompaniments; number of portions it serves.

© Food – a fact of life 2007 The ingredient list may also give details for the size of a food item needed, for example: a large egg; 1 small can of tomatoes. Sometimes the list will explain how the ingredient should be prepared, for example: 1 onion, chopped; 50g cheese, grated; 100g canned sweetcorn, drained. Ingredients
