Thank You for Worshipping Christ with us Today!

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 The Most Important Question!

In his profound essay, The Green Fields of the Mind, on the meaning of baseball, A. Bartlett Giamatti, encouraged us to ‘Go Deeper’

“It breaks your heart. It was designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms…

…in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it…

…rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then, just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most…

…it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped, and summer was gone.”

Giamatti was asking us to seek ‘the deeper truth behind what we see and know with our senses!’

John 11: So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Now Bethany was near… John 11: So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Now Bethany was near…

…Jerusalem, about two miles away. 19 And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

20 Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Now Martha said to Jesus,

“Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me…

…shall never die. Do you believe this?”

The Great Question! Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25- 26) The Great Question! Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25- 26)

Many believe this passage is just about living forever, but it is not!

It is about being willing to live for something so powerful, so eternal, so engaging and meaningful that it cannot possibly die!

“A man who does not have something for which he is willing to die is not fit to live.” -- Martin Luther King Jr. “A man who does not have something for which he is willing to die is not fit to live.” -- Martin Luther King Jr.

Jesus was asking Mary & Martha to ‘Go Deeper’ into the wonder, mystery and intimacy of God then they could have ever imagined!

It’s About Trusting God! He is Good! He is Gracious! He is Righteous! He is Loving! He is Faithful! It’s About Trusting God! He is Good! He is Gracious! He is Righteous! He is Loving! He is Faithful!

It’s About Trusting God Now! The power of this moment… …it’s holiness, it’s preciousness! It’s About Trusting God Now! The power of this moment… …it’s holiness, it’s preciousness!

It’s About Trusting God Now, Forever! The magnitude of God… …eternity! It’s About Trusting God Now, Forever! The magnitude of God… …eternity!

The Most Important Question! “Do You Believe This?” The Most Important Question! “Do You Believe This?”

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 The Most Important Question!

May you have an incredible week sharing Jesus with others!
