Cake baking Enjoy cooking and everyone loves cake. Like cooking but not very good at it.

Cake baking  There is over 100 types and styles of cakes.  Cakes began as flat pieces of bread with no icing.  I learned the skills it takes to build and design a cake.

 My product is two different styles of cake: One is a two layered cake with a flower design and the other is a chocolate cake shaped like a turket.  My research was the history of cakes and the design.

Product/Mentor Rachel Thomas She has been baking cakes and other deserts for almost 10 years

Product/Mentor I have learned the basic skills to making a cake, such as, baking it and designing it. I accomplished this by the instructions and supervision of my mentor. She told me how to do it and supervised that I did it correctly.

Product  18hours total, 9 with mentor.  By research different recipes of cakes and then making the cakes my self helped me gain knowledge about cake making.

Obstacles  Deciding which cakes to make for my product.  Figuring out the proper way to make them, such as, the right temperature and how long to bake them.  Three interesting facts: 1. Cakes are used for different occasions such as, weddings, birthdays, or funerals. 2. You can make a cake from scratch or a mix from a box and it will look almost the same but taste different. 3. I really enjoy cake baking.
