Today in Science we are learning... To know the names and jobs of each of the teeth. To know why we need teeth. To understand what a herbivore, carnivore and omnivore are and how this effects the shape of teeth.

Cut the food. They’re like the scissors at the front of your mouth! Help you tear and grip food like French bread or meat! Grind the food before you swallow it. They are at the back of your mouth.

Herbivores are animals that only eat plants such as fruit, vegetables or grass. There are vegetarians! Carnivores only eat meat. They are often good hunters. They would never eat vegetables or fruit! Omnivores eat both meat and vegetables. Most people are omnivores!

Your next task: In your groups you will need to organise your animals into 3 groups according to whether they are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. What do you notice about the teeth in each group?
