READY FOR TODAY’S STORY?

GECKOS AND DINOSSAURS ADAPTATION OF A BRAZILIAN STORY WRITTEN by RUBEN ALVES GECKOS AND DINOSSAURS ADAPTATION OF A BRAZILIAN STORY WRITTEN by RUBEN ALVES

Small, multi-coloured geckos lived together. There was no lack of food, there was no lack of shelter. They needed very little to survive. HOW MANY GECKOS CAN YOU SEE?

A fairy friend warned them: “be careful with the serpent in the oak tree – geckos are her favourite food!” But the white geckos were VERY VERY VERY curious... ARE YOU VERY CURIOUS?

And one day they realised that the serpent was not scary at all! She was actually very friendly! She called the geckos ‘little creatures’ and invited them to taste the magic fruit from the tree which could make them more beautiful and more powerful...

She told the white geckos that they would grow bigger and that the other geckos would respect, fear and obey them. They would be at the top for their beauty and their strength! WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO DO? ARE THEY GOING TO TASTE THE FRUIT? WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THEIR PLACE?

The white geckos thought that they deserved to rule over the others, after all, they were much cleverer...So, they ate it and the transformation started.

“You do as we say little geckos! We are superior and we need more food! The bigger we become, the better!” But there were two big problems... WHAT DO YOU THINK THE PROBLEMS WERE?

The forests were becoming smaller and smaller...

And their poo polluted the air, the earth, the rivers and the sea...

But they were very proud of their achievements, their size, their beauty and their strength, until... WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED TO THEM?

They died – not because they were too weak, but because they were too strong! The small geckos survived, as they needed very little...

THE END The serpent said: If it worked with small geckos, it might work with boys and girls as well… WHAT DO YOU THINK?
