Cerion Optimization Services, Inc Dallas Parkway, Suite 404 Frisco, TX USA Optimiser TM Product Introduction This presentation contains Cerion confidential information and is protected by copyright Issue 6.3 Developed for Web Site Distribution

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 2 Optimiser™ Home Page Cerion Optimiser™ Home Page enables users to access models for the 2G and 3G, RAN, Core and Transmission Network(s) In this way the user can rapidly evaluate different “what-if scenarios”, compare them and select an optimal end-to-end network evolution plan that is easily exported from the tool The user is able to switch between the different segments of the network and analyze the impact of different demand forecasts on each part

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 3 Importing Actual Demand Real world demand measurements, network configuration information and marketing projections are imported into the tool using the i-Builder™ Server The demand data is used to create a highly granular forecast which the user can then adjust to evaluate different demand scenarios Optimiser™ uses the forecast to assess end-to-end capacity requirements and the detailed design of the network over time

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 4 Capacity Planning – Before Optimization The forecast is used to develop a Capacity Plan. This example shows projected RNC requirements with RNC’s that are projected to be in overload from March onwards. Users can readily switch views to look at other network elements … While the orange bar in these months indicates that additional RNCs MUST be added to support the demand forecast The red bar in these months indicates that at least one RNC will be operating above an engineering limit in that month. This can be resolved through optimization. Users can also drill down to get more detailed reports.

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 5 Node-B Network Design This is a geo-based design view – A comprehensive selection of tabular and graphical views is also available Opimiser™ enables the user to analyze and modify the detailed design of the network for each month of the capacity plan This view shows projected demand loading and handovers at a Node B level This bar chart shows the operating points and associated engineering limit of selected Node B’s in a specific month.

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 6 RNC Network Design – Before Optimization It is easy for the user to switch between different element design views. This example shows an imbalanced RNC network in a particular month.

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 7 Design Optimization Using the automated optimization engine users can load balance elements, optimize borders, and minimize re- parenting on the click of a button

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 8 RNC Network Design – After Optimization Using the design optimization engine the new design is clearly more load balanced than the original. While this chart shows how the original RNC network was optimized in a particular month by adding 3 RNC’s and using Optimiser™’s automated optimization engine This chart shows the original RNC network design in a specific month BEFORE AFTER

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 9 Capacity Utilization Reports – Node B, RNC, SGSN Cerion Optimiser™ provides many different end- to-end utilization reports This chart shows the highest projected operating points for different RNC’s. Here are the highest projected operating points for different Node-B’s … And this chart shows projected CPU loading on multiple SGSN’s over time

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 10 Capacity Planning – After Completing Design This chart shows the original Capacity Planning view of the network from an RNC perspective After using the design optimization engine the new capacity plan is within all engineering limits across all months This chart shows how the evolution of the RNC network was optimized across all months using the Optimiser™ tool BEFORE AFTER

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 11 Implementation Planning Optimiser™ implementation sequencing module enables users to develop an optimal implementation plan in a few simple steps. The implementation plan must address equipment changes. …and re-parenting.

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 12 Implementation Planning Optimiser™ automated sequencing engine creates an optimal reconfiguration plan that avoids engineering overload and quality of service issues Start and end dates for implementation are entered using this tab The date that each change occurs can be adjusted using this tab

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 13 Implementation Planning Optimiser™ automatically sequences each step to eliminate interim capacity and performance issues across any network element throughout implementation If the chosen network design cannot be implemented without a capacity issues, this is highlighted to the user for modification of the design Implementation of the new design occurs in multiple steps, creating interim network configurations that can cause overload and end user performance issues if not properly managed

Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 14 Optimiser™ Benefits Optimize the total cost of network ownership through CAPEX and OPEX rationalization Improve Quality of Service by precise network dimensioning that pre- empts potential bottlenecks Ensure optimal 2G/3G performance and efficiency Enable a real time predictive process that delivers precise alignment between E2E network capacity and mobile broadband demand TYPICAL RESULTS 20% increase in capacity or equivalent CAPEX reduction 18% reduction in re-parenting 0.1% reduction in dropped calls 55% improvement in operational efficiency
