Chapter Seven Telling Time

1.hour – a unit used to measure time 1 hour = 60 minutes 1 day = 24 hours

2. quarter hour – 15 minutes

3. half hour – 30 minutes

4. clockwise – direction that the hands of a clock move

5. counter clockwise – the opposite direction that the hands of a clock move

6. A.M. – describes the time of the day from midnight to noon

7. P.M. – describes the time of the day from noon to midnight

8. noon – 12:00 PM in the day

9. midnight – 12:00 AM at night

10. elapsed time – the amount of time that passes from the start to the end of an activity

11. schedule – a table of activities and the times they happen
