11 Water Conservation  1.4 Million gal/yr irrigation water saved from the use of native plant landscapes. Reclaimed water (“purple pipe”) from the Walnut Creek WWTP used for site irrigation  1.7 million gal/yr estm savings from low flow plumbing fixtures and dual flush toilets  2.4 million gal/yr estm savings from water efficient autoclaves  Water Efficiency = approx 5.5 million gal/yr saved  Not accounting for irrigation water savings, on a per square foot basis, DCMCCT consumes 30% to 40% less water that 4 other comparable size hospitals in Central Texas  Last year, DCMCCT consumed 17,000,000 gallons of irrigation water less than another hospital of similar site size
