God Watches Over Us READ: PSALM 42

There will be times in our life when we will get depressed and discouraged.  We just need to remember that God watches over us at all times.  He is always concerned about our well being, even when we insist on doing things our own way.

Knowing that He is observing us should help us guard against anything that would displease Him.  Have you ever been picked on by a bully?  Have you ever been the bully picking on someone?

Frank Peretti said in his book “Wounded Spirit”, that the wounded spirit is borne by many, yet it can’t often be seen.  Many stop trying when they have been made fun of or mentally abused.

Some people carry deep scars and suffer in silence.  Jesus Christ was taunted and spit on.  He was perfect without sin.  But still they hated Him.

Mr. Peretti says in his book that the message a bully sends is mockery of God’s handiwork, a lie that slanders God’s nature and negates His love for us.  Isn’t it reassuring to know that we can never wander away from His protecting gaze!

We should humbly allow our sorrows to draw us closer to the Savior.  Some will choose to retaliate.  Others will turn for help.  By yielding to Him, our tears can become nourishment for our souls.
