Journey of the spirit, Lesson 6, The Death is transfer of the soul to another system Death is under God’s command

Who takes the souls from the body? 1.Allah (swt): اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا [39.42] Allah takes the souls at the time of their death…. 2. The Angel of death (EZRAAEEL): قُلْ يَتَوَفَّاكُم مَّلَكُ الْمَوْتِ الَّذِي وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ [32.11] Say: The angel of death who is given charge of you shall cause you to die, then to your Lord you shall be brought back (return to the source we came from). 3.The Angels of death: الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلآئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلامٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ادْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ [16.32] Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying: Peace be on you: enter the garden for what you did. [6:61]when death comes to one of you, Our messengers cause him to die إِذَا جَاء أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا

Chain of commands: Allah (swt) is the master of command, without his permission or decree no one lives or dies, he is the one who created life and death. Angel of death is responsible of executing the command of Allah (swt). There are angels of death who work under the command of EZRAAEEL the chief of the angels of death. So if the soul is taken away we can say Allah took, and we can say Ezraeel took and we can also say that the angels of death took. Same like if we ask who killed Imam Hussain (AS), the Answer could be YAZEED (L) because he was the master of commanded, and we can say UMAR son of SAAD (L) because he was the commander of Yazeed’s army, and we can say SHIMR (L) or the soldiers (L) because they did the direct killing. In some cases for special occasions EZRAEEL takes the soul directly, such as Infallibles (AS)

Death is creature Many say that death is absence of life, but Quraan says that it is a creature created by God, it could be the Ghostly body which contains the soul after life, or some kind or replacement God knows better. In the hadeeth of Imam Al Baqir (AS): Life and death are creatures of Allah, if death comes enters the Human, and where ever it enters the life comes out from it. So it could be something which pushes the life out, or it could be the name of the ghostly body which takes over the soul and contains it, and the physical body had contained it. [67.2] Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

Example of the transfer of the soul The replacement of the body of a computer, and maintain the essence of the computer or the memory or the Data. The perfume stick BOKHOOR if we burn it the essence is transferred to the body or cloth, and the wood remains without the fragrance. If we collect the smoke of the bokhoor in a glass shaped doll, then the smoke will take the shape of the glass dummy or doll, the same way soul has no shape it is an intellectual energy, takes the body it enters.

Death has fixed time: وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَاء أَجَلُهُمْ لاَ يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ [7.34] And for every nation there is a doom, so when their doom is come they shall not remain behind the least while, nor shall they go before. نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ [56.60] We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, قُل لَّن يَنفَعَكُمُ الْفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرْتُم مِّنَ الْمَوْتِ أَوِ الْقَتْلِ وَإِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا 33.16] Say: Flight shall not do you any good if you fly from death or slaughter, and in that case you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little.

There is no escape from death: أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُواْ يُدْرِككُّمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ [4.78] Wherever you are, death will overtake you, though you are in lofty towers. إِنَّ اللّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ يُحْيِـي وَيُمِيتُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ نَصِيرٍ [9.116] Surely Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He brings to life and causes to die; and there is not for you besides Allah any Guardian or Helper. وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا [53.44] And that He it is Who causes death and gives life-

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَّا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا [25.3] And they have taken besides Him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. هُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ فَإِذَا قَضَى أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ [40.68] He it is Who gives life and brings death, so when He decrees an affair, He only says to it: Be, and it is. وَإنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ [15.23] And most surely We bring to life and cause to die and We are the heirs.

Misconception: If death is fixed and in the hands of Allah (swt), then what about the resuscitation and the suicide? Answer: The time of death is written, there are suicide attempts but people they do not die because death is not written, and there are resuscitation attempts which fail, that means that the death was inevitable. Should we then avoid the suicide and do the resuscitation, what good does it do? Answer: We have to perform our duties, to avoid the causes of death and to save others life, that is our duty, the end results are in God’s hands, but if we fail to resuscitate and the person dies, then we will be held accountable, and if we commit suicide and we die, then we will be held accountable.

Our duty is what we will be accountable for? We have to do our duty with the best of what we have to keep a person alive, and what ever is in the decree of God is not our concern. The plug should not be removed, may be the soul is still inside, may be one day we can resuscitate the brain, there are people who suffer more than that dying person, so should we kill them so that they may relief???!! Conclusion: We do not have any information about the soul, God controls that part, we are responsible of what ever we control.
