1. Club Discipline

Club Discipline 4 Refs reports this season Match abandonment 2 yellows for technical offences 1 Abuse of Ref by player 1 Abuse of Ref by coach Abuse of officials is not acceptable under any circumstances. Danger of club wide sanctions if this record of ill discipline continues.

2. Whole Club Seal of Approval

Whole club seal of Approval Club received Whole Club Seal of Approval in Oct of last year Club assessed on 64 different criteria, see later slides……. Benefits: With a clear management system and plan for development, the RFU are more likely to support any grant application for facilities development.

Whole club seal of Approval

The Club Accreditation scheme is based upon the six Key Drivers identified as crucial to a strong club: Retaining & Developing Players Recruiting New Players Recruiting & Retaining High Quality Coaches, Volunteers & Referees Effective & Efficient Facilities Effective & Efficient Management and Governance Integration with the Local Community New RFU Accreditation Based on Whole Club seal of Approval we have been automatically given this new accreditation

Protecting playing fields grant Background Link to URL – Could be used to fund conversion of old school field to high quality playing surface Requires partnership funding Requires 25 year lease, council currently offering 3 years with a review thereafter. Application from multisport sites will be seen more favourably

Reaching communities grant Reaching Communities revenue and small capital – funding from £10,000 to £500,000 for revenue projects and/or smaller capital projects up to £50,000 Reaching Communities buildings – funding of between £100,000 and £500,000 for large capital projects Reaching Communities funds projects that help people and communities most in need. Projects can be new or existing, or be the core work of your organisation. Every project we fund must: Respond to need - Need is the term we use to describe a problem or issue, or situation where something needs to change to make things better for a person, or group of people or environment. Involve the people who will benefit from the project in planning and running the project Achieve one or more of the following four outcomes: 1. People having better chances in life, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills 2. Stronger communities, with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems 3. Improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy 4. Healthier and more active people and communities.

Next steps Meeting with councillors on 25 th Feb Support from local MP Engagement with other parties – RL, NWH, American Football Meeting with RFU RDO and Facilities manager on 1 st March Application for outline planning pernmission Funding……….

4. Incorporation

Incorporation Means becoming a Ltd company Currently all committee members and trustees are responsible for club liabilities. If there is not enough money here potentially all club members will be liable……

Incorporation Benefits: Provides club officers/trustees/members with financial protection in case of litigation Think about Taunton Rugby Club……… Requirements Registration at companies house Change of constitution via an SGM in April Timeline: SGM in April Become full incorporated entity in the Autumn Incorporation will not greatly effect the running of the club!

Thanks for your attention …… Any questions?
