Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Interministerial Commission on Global Climate Change Executive Secretary Local Stakeholders Consultation Resolution 7/2008 defines that: – In order to obtain the letter of approval, the project participants (PP) shall send invitation letter to comments to the actors involved, interested and/or affected by the CDM project submit to DNA of Brazil: – copies of the invitations letter to comment – copies of their postal delivery confirmation.

Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Interministerial Commission on Global Climate Change Executive Secretary Public Meetings In case PP couldn’t prove that invitations to comments were sent to one or more entities. Resolution 10/2013: – PP shall invite all actors for a public meeting; presentation of negative and positive aspects of the CDM project; opportunity to stakeholders express their opinions, to ask questions and present suggestions; – PDD shall contain the meeting report. – Documents shall be sent to DNA of Brazil

Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Interministerial Commission on Global Climate Change Executive Secretary Challenges and Ideas Few comments – improving the participation of local communities: consultant council; adoption of public meetings as a requirement; identification of specific actors per type of project. Absence of information about litigation concerns (labor lawsuits, environmental permits, indigenous conflicts) – getting closer to public prosecutors: establishment of information flow.
