Presentation transcript:

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. Anne Frank Pelican Marsh Mentors

My teacher made sure I had food to eat today.

My mentor and I are reading a book “together” at our own homes. Then she calls me to discuss what we have read. It’s the first book I’ve read at home in over a year.

My teacher ate lunch with me today and took time to figure out why I refuse to do my homework. It’s not that I don’t want to. I just can’t concentrate when things are so bad at home.

I was able to buy a book at the Book Fair… thanks to my Mentor.

I love my teacher because she lets me come in to her room after school and I can help out around the room. I like the attention my teacher gives me.

A student who transferred to PME gets a Thursday morning "check in" from a PME teacher who knew him from his “old” school. In addition to seeing how his week has been going, the teacher makes him happy just having someone visit with him.

My mentor helps me with my reading skills. I feel good about myself when she helps me.

My mentor sings to me.

I have a little friend on campus. Can I be her mentor?

Want to become a mentor? Contact Ms. Hope for more details. Do you know a way you or a staff member has helped a child? Please forward the good deed to Sandy Kivett to include in our PowerPoint.
