CASA JALISCO IN THE UNITED STATES

CASA JALISCO IN THE UNITED STATES Casa Jalisco in Chicago is an strategic project of the Government of the State of Jalisco in Mexico, whose purpose is to guarantee the promotion and access to programs and services that the Government of the State of Jalisco has to offer to all the Jaliscienses in the Midwest, as well as to provide an infrastructure where everyone is able to enjoy. Furthermore, Casa Jalisco supports the labor and actions taken by the Jalisciense Federation of the Midwest and by the jaliscienses themselves.

CASA JALISCO IN CHICAGO * FACILITIES Casa Jalisco is a completly remodeled 3 story facility, with nice offices where the Goverment of Jalisco Departments and the Fedejal have been allocated. It also has wide rooms ideal for meetings, expositions, classes, courses among other activities. Up to now, the Government of Jalisco dependencies that have representatives in Casa Jalisco are the following:

 This Coordination addresses the educational needs of people from Jalisco and the migrant community in general, through the implementation of educational projects authorized and operated by the Secretariat of Education of the State of Jalisco.  This is done in collaboration with government agencies, educational institutions and social organizations in México and in the United States.  The Coordination is open to any ideas, suggestions and cooperation from any person or institution interested in promoting education.

People who want to start or continue their elementary or secondary school studies, or to get a bachelor´s degree. Young people and families interested in promoting and reading Spanish literature. Persons who want to improve their English skills at work and develop their technical knowledge in the fields of food services and landscaping. People who need support for educational procedures and documents from Jalisco. Departments of local governments in Illinois. The State of Illinois with the departments of educational, culture and social services. Universities in Illinois and the Midwest. Non-profit organizations that serve the Latin American community.

 Classes 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.  Students from 6 to 98 years  Trained teachers Guitar Painting Theater Children's Choir Music Therapy Workshop: (for people with cognitive disabilities). The Coordination of Cultural Affairs is focused in the promotion and dissemination of Jalisco and the whole Mexican Culture as Spanish lecture and the reconnaissance of our traditions and customs among other activities.  Rescue of our Traditions Sample of "Altars of the Dead“ (From October 29 to November 2, 2011)  Exhibitions: painting, handcrafting, photographic, lithographic, traveling, etc..  Guided Tours: To promote interest in knowing the major museums in Chicago.  Cultural Day: In a monthly basis, we execute events to promote new talent in all genres, conferences and more.  Promoting reading: The goal of this is the establishment of ”Spanish Reading Rooms" in several places along the state of Illinois.
