Direct Services with Students Direct services are in-person interactions between school counselors and students and include the following: School Counseling Core Curriculum structured lessons designed to help students attain the desired competencies Individual Student Planning are activities designed to assist students in establishing personal goals and developing future plans. Responsive Service may include individual or small-group settings or crisis response. Classroom Lessons Individual Sessions Small Group Counseling

Pre-planning Things that make you go HMMMMM Visit new teachers Think about setting up a counselors open house for your staff to meet you (and to give teachers info). Sit down with current counselor(s) Think about how you will set up self-referrals How often will you go into classrooms for core curriculum lessons? When will you start groups? What school-wide programs are counselors at your school usually leading? Create your partnership agreement (part of eval) Make appt for late August to review partnership aggreement with administration.
