Many believed it was just scraps In 1948 the McDonald brothers open their first restaurant o The assembly line method of making food begins Drive- throughs begin popping up around the country in 1947 The idea exploded in the fast paced New York City o Slogan was “Less work for your mother.”

The FDA allows chain restaurants to use “pink slime” also called lean finely textured beef o This meat is made of the cheapest cuts of meat o It accounts for 70% of all beef consumed in the country o Most of it is connective tissue
