Catia Forum CAEC in short Organization Current composition of CAEC Sub-committees and Working groups CAEC in short Organization Current composition of CAEC Sub-committees and Working groups 1 CAEC Catia Forum Antti Onnela, CAEC chairman

Catia Forum Established in 1983 as a piloting body to introduce the use of CAD in the LEP design. CAEC was then financed by the LEP project. The mandate of CAEC evolved later to steer CERN-wide the activities concerning tools and support for computer aided mechanical engineering and related fields. Steering the implementation and use of CAE software has become particularly essential since the transition from Euclid to Catia. This is done by topical sub-committees and working groups (see next slides). Annual budget: ~ 700 kCHF ~ 500 kCHF on maintenance of CAE software licenses and servers; ~ 200 kCHF on investments of software and consulting.
