FY Contract Awards We anticipate an increase in each LHJs prevention grant base funding, depending on our CDC Prevention Award. The five newly funded LHJs will receive a 6-month prevention grant for January – June of this FY. The new allocation formula utilizing HIV/AIDS incidence and prevalence data will be used to distribute the additional funds. FY funding will be distributed using the allocation formula, based on the new CDC award amount.

Expectations of additional Base Funding Will be added to LHJs current Prevention grant base funding To be used to enhance prevention program activities listed in new FOA. ◦ May include additional testing at high-risk, high-yield sites ◦ May include additional PwP prevention activities ◦ May be used for capacity building, training and planning for new prevention program

Transition Funding OA applied for and was awarded $900,000 from CDC to support transitional activities as we begin the new CDC PS Prevention Program. These are one-time funds to be used and invoiced for during the period covering January 1, 2012 through June 30, OA will use the allocation formula to distribute the additional funds to 15 currently funded LHJs. The funds are to be used to continue implementing current HIV prevention activities that will discontinue at the end of FY The funds cannot be used to add new sites, add services or expand current FY activities.

Planning Activity Examples Training, capacity building, hire planning consultant, costs to close out services Using your Epi data and HIV Community Plans, prioritize Tier I activities in your new prevention program Assess current Tier I activities that can continue and contribute to your prevention program Identify gaps in activities or target populations that will need additional resources or new activities developed Submit Plans to OA, on worksheets and format provided by OA

LHJ Activities Testing Linkage to care Partner services Assessment & linkage to interventions & services for HIV+ people HIV treatment adherence Syringe services programs OA-led Activities Policy initiatives – Surveillance data use – Leveraging SAMHSA HIV set-aside funds – Healthcare reform planning Condom distribution & syringe supply bank State community planning Tier 1 Activities

Hepatitis C testing (can test in non-healthcare settings prior to fulfilling all Tier I activities) Integrated HIV, hepatitis, TB and STD screening Behavioral interventions for high-risk negative people Social marketing, media and mobilization Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) planning and/or delivery Tier II Activities

Developing Your New Prevention Plan Prioritized Tier I & Tier II Activities for New Prevention Program Current Prevention Activities Completing & closing out activities that will not continue Identifying activities that will be continued Identifying new activities that will be needed Identifying existing activities that can be incorporated to your Prevention Plan (e.g., MAI, EIIHAS, EIS)
