TELEVISIONS Noah Thompson Renaldo Waldron

WHEN WAS THE TELEVISION INVENTED?  In 1927 the first television was invented.  In 1928 the first reliable television was innovated.  Many people attempted to make televisions before that, but they weren’t reliable and always working.

WHO INVENTED THE TELEVISION?  Philo Farnsworth Many people contributed to the invention of the T.V. Many people had ideas that led to the invention. According to the MIT technology review Farnsworth was the man who invented the very first television.

WHAT NEED DID THE TELEVISION ADDRESS?  Farnsworth goal was to capture moving images that could be coded into radio waves an then put into pictures on a screen.  The T.V. created a new form of entertainment that the world had never seen before.

EXISTING PATENTS  In 1930 Farnsworth received a patent on the first television. The patent covered scanning, focusing, synchronizing, contrast, control, and power. In 1945 Georges Valensi received a patent for colored television systems. In 1978 Joseph N. Jackson received a patent for remote controls.

WHAT MATERIALS WERE ORIGINALLY USED TO MAKE THE TELEVISION?  Farnsworth created over 165 different devices to help convert an image to the electric signal.  Image Dissection Tube- Translated images into electrons that can be transmitted on T.V.  Vacuum Tubes  Electric Scanners  Amplifiers  Picture Tube(Cathode Ray Tube)

HOW WAS THE PRODUCT ORIGINALLY MADE?  The T.V. had a house on the inside which is where all the devices that make the T.V. work are.  Inside the house there are compartments for three different groups:  The audio system which is the speakers and the wiring.  The electronic compartment holds things like the antennae and signals for the remote control.  The picture tube has it’s own compartment and it has a lot of devices in there that work to convert the electrons into a moving image.

WHAT IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE TELEVISION?  Many Improvements have been made to the television ever since it was made.  Basic improvements were that they improved the size of the screen and the sound was a lot more clear.  In the late 1940’s colored T.V.s came out, but most people didn’t get them until the 50’s and later.  In the 1962 T.V.s starting connecting to satellite and broadcasting networks via satellite.  In 1964 the first plasma screen T.V. using L.C.D.s(Liquid Crystal Displays) which were cheaper than cathode rays and they could allow you to create larger screens.  Someone wanted to help not fatigue the eyes to much.  In 1993 digital televisions came out.

WHY WERE THE IMPROVEMENTS MADE?  The innovations to the T.V were made to make watching T.V. more relaxing and enjoyable.  The eyes could be easily fatigued by cathode rays and the poor sound systems made them hard to listen to.  With new technology newer T.V.s will keep coming out. If we have the technology why not innovate things to become better.

WHO USES THE TELEVISION?  Millions and Billions of people all over the world use television  The average American over the age of 2 spends more than 34 hours a week watching live television, says a new Nielsen report.  People use television everyday for shows, movies, and now video games to entertain themselves or educate.

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL IMPACT ON SOCIETY FROM THE INVENTIONS AND INNOVATIONS OF THE TELEVISION?  This one piece of technology has significantly impacted our society today, the way people see themselves and the world around us  Television today can have negative and positive impacts on our world.  T.V. today can educate and inform and also destroy

HOW WOULD I INNOVATE THE TELEVISION?  My innovation of a television would have touch screen and motion sensor or holographic.  You can have Wi-Fi on this T.V. and digital games to play on T.V. and a stream of shows and Netflix and apps all on T.V. so no need for video game consoles  The T.V. will be personally connected to your cellular device and accessible on your phone everything you do on T.V.
