The seven elements… Characterization- creation of reasonable replicas of human beings Plot- series of events that make up a story Point of view-perspective of the story; voice or speaker who is narrating Setting-natural or artificial environment in which the story takes place
The seven elements… Symbol- understood to mean something beyond itself Tone- attitude the writer conveys toward the story itself and to the reader Irony-language or situations that are the opposite of what is expected Theme- what the story reveals about life; the central idea presented
