PRIMARY/ JUNIOR CURRICULUM METHODS ASSIGNMENT #1

“ GETTING STARTED:THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS ” A unique opportunity! Four days in a classroom Role of a “helpful guest and observer”

OUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT That you will connect your observations to your future practices as a teacher. You will complete observations in an organized, professional format; the finished product for this assignment will become part of your professional portfolio.

FOI ACT and YOUR ASSIGNMENT Check with your Associate Teacher and Principal before taking pictures of any child. Use initials or fictitious names instead of actual names.

REFINING THE ASSIGNMENT Bring your rough work to the first Methods Class. Revise/ complete it after the first Methods Class; hand it in during the second class of that first week. Make corrections and post a corrected copy in your developing Professional Portfolio.

USING THE RUBRIC Use the rubric, or marking scheme, to guide what you include in your assignment. Attach the assignment sheet to your finished assignment so that your professors can use it to evaluate and provide feedback for your work.

DOES EVERYONE HAVE A COPY OF THE ASSIGNMENT? QUESTIONS???
