This week... Monday - data sharing, fecal coliform test Tuesday - Water lecture Wednesday - Nitrate and Phosphate tests.

Things you must accomplish today... Fecal Coliform protocol Fecal Coliform test Share data Upload Pictures to desktops

Coliform Bacteria Protocol Fill the tube to the 10ml line Replace cap stand the tube upright with the tablet flat on the bottom of the tube Incubate the tube upright, at room temperature, for 48 hours Compare the contents in the tube to the color chart

Wednesday September 28, 2011 Today we will Sophomores interested in a long term internship? 2. Get down the nitrate and phosphate protocols 3. Complete your nitrate and phosphate test 4. Check coliform test **TAKE PICTURES OF ALL TEST RESULTS**

Nitrate Protocol 1. Fill the test tube to the 5 mL line. 2. Add one Nitrate #1 3. Cap the tube & the mix until the tablet has disintegrated. 4. Add one Nitrate #2 CTA 5. Cap the tube and mix until the table has disintegrated. 6. Wait 5 minutes. 7. Compare the color or sample to the nitrate color chart. NOTE: If the reaction is yellow, record result as 0ppm.

Phosphate Protocol Fill the test tube to the 5 mL line. Add one Phosphorus. Cap the tube & mix until the tablet has disintegrated. Wait 5 minutes. Compare the color of the sample to the Phosphate color chart record result as ppm phosphate.

Check your coliform test Record results ( BE DESCRIPTIVE ABOUT COLOR & BUBBLES )
