Reading Strategy Ordering Plot Events for Edith Hamilton’s “The Trojan War”

 The Judgment of Paris  Menelaus returns home to find Helen gone.  Odysseus pretends to be “mad” in order to avoid going to war.  Paris and Menelaus face each other in battle.  The Prince Aeneas comes close to death at Diomedes’ hands.  Ares joins the battle fighting beside Hector.  Achilles and Agamemnon quarrel over the captive Briseis.

 Patroclus disguised as Achilles leads the dreaded Myrmidons.  Hector battles Achilles.  Priam journeys to Achilles’ tent.
