GermsGerms What Are They? & How to fight them!

What are Germs? Some kids may think that germs are bugs or cooties or other gross stuff. Actually, germs are tiny organisms, or living things, that can cause disease. Germs are so small and sneaky that they creep into our bodies without being noticed. In fact, germs are so tiny that you need to use a microscope to see them

What Do Germs Do? Once germs invade our bodies, they snuggle in for a long stay. They gobble up nutrients and energy. They hang around your body and make you have symptoms of common infections, like fevers, sniffles, rashes, coughing, vomiting, and diarrhea.

How can I stay healthy? Wash Your Hands You should use warm water and soap to wash your hands. Wash your hands for 15 seconds (or sing the “Happy Birthday song”)

How can I stay healthy? Cough and Sneeze into your elbow or a tissue When you feel a cough coming out you should always cough into your elbow, never into your hands.

How can I stay healthy? Keep your hands away from your face. You have many germs on your hands. Keep them away from your: mouth nose eyes

How can I stay healthy? My friends to help you remember the rules: Wendy washes away the germs.

How can I stay healthy? Carl remembers to catch his coughs and sneezes.

Kevin keeps his hands away from his face.

So if we want to be healthy we must… Wash Cover Keep Away

Then we can fight and say good bye to germs forever!
