The Menu An Investigation

The Menu In a restaurant the menu on offer was very limited and is shown on the Menu Board. How much would it cost for egg, chips and beans and a pot of tea? Menu Egg, chips = ₤1.55 Egg and beans = ₤1.05 Chips and beans = ₤1.40 Tea = 75p per pot

Exercise In a small café the following menu was on offer. A man ordered Sausage, Egg and Chips and a pot of tea and was charged ₤3.65. Was he charged the correct amount? Menu Sausage, Egg, Burger and Chips = ₤3.50 Sausage and Chips = ₤1.95 Egg, Burger and Chips = ₤2.65 Burger and Chips = ₤2.00 Tea = 85p per pot

Solution Pupils will either manage to do this in ten seconds or they will not be able to do it at all. If you add all the things on the menu together apart from the tea you get 2 portions of eggs+ 2 portions of chips + 2 portions of beans will cost ? Therefore 1 portion of each will cost? Hence solution.
