A Mind Revolution By: Stephanie Noss

 An idea by Isaac Mao.  The key motivator of Social Media and the core spirit of Web 2.0 is a mind switch.  Suggests a re-orientation of personal values.  A mental practice that anyone can try.  A social-psychological attitude to transform a wide and isolated world into a super-smart Social Brain.

 Sharism is encoded in the Human Genome.  The theory of Sharism finds an origin in neuroscience and its study of the working model of the human brain.  A neuron, shares chemical signals with its neighbors, which keep the neuron active and alive.  A neural network subsists to share activity and information.

 Non-sharing culture misleads with its separation of Private and Public space.  Sharism makes creative action a binary choice between public and private, open and closed.  Not sharing reates a gap in the spectrum of knowledge.  The paradox is: The less you share, the less power you have.

 Encourage someone to share, his or her sharing paths will stay open.  It will be kept in his or her mind as a memory and an instinct  In the future, his or her creative choice will be to “share.”

 Is the Spirit of the Age of Web 2.0.  It has the reliability of a naturalized Epistemology and modernized Axiology.  Assures the power of a new Internet philosophy.  Will convert the world into an emergent Social Brain: a networked hybrid of people and software.

 In education: gives students a head start in communication, collaboration and mutual understanding.  Helps students create a digital portfolio that serves to help teachers get to know them and their passions.  Can also bond them with other teachers and mentors who share the same passions.  Helps create knowledge and build relationships.

 A form of Sharism.  Type of website.  Maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary.  Persons describe or share different events, or other material such as graphics or video.  Corporate blogs, Personal blogs, question blogs, etc.  Two ways a blog becomes popular: through citations and affiliation.

 An example of Sharism.  Multilingual encyclopedia mission sustained by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation.  Articles have been created collaboratively by volunteers around the world.  Almost all articles can be edited by anyone who can access the Wikipedia website.  Critics target its policy of supporting consensus over credentials in its editorial process.  It’s reliability and accuracy are also a concern.

 Sharism allows individuals to express themselves through the web.  Twitter, Blogging and Wikipedia are all ways to share.  Sharism allows teachers to form stronger relationships with colleagues and students.
