BULLYING DEFINITION Bullying is when one or more people intentionally harm, harass, intimidate, or exclude others. Bullying behavior can happen once, but usually is repeated several times.
WHAT DOES BULLYING LOOK LIKE? Turn and Talk (One Minute) Take one minute to turn to your neighbor and discuss ways that you have experienced bullying either directed at you or you have seen happen to others.

SOMETIMES IT’S COMPLICATED Recognizing bullying can be complicated. Sometimes it is back and forth. Some people are good at hiding their bullying behaviors. Sometimes even “nice “ people are bullies.
TIPS FOR DEALING WITH BULLYING Tell yourself it’s not your fault. Nobody “deserves” to be bullied. Stay in control. Retaliating or fighting back usually makes things worse and may get you into trouble at school or home. Tell the person to stop, as long as it is safe. Avoid places or situations where bullying happens. Report bullying to an adult you trust. You can also report bullying anonymously by texting The Friends Hotline Text with the keyword: Friends TH Bell. Then your message.
WRAP UP Bullying is a problem in many junior high schools. That’s why our school and Weber School District have rules and policies designed to help everyone feel safe and able to work hard toward learning. T.H. Bell Junior High can be a great place for learning, friendship, and fun if we all do our part to stop bullying.
