Arizona By :Deonte Williams

 Arizona is called “The Grand Canyon State”. It is 113,642 square miles long. The capital of Arizona is Phoenix. It borders New Mexico, Nevada, California, and Utah.

 The flag of Arizona is red, yellow, orange, and blue. On the top half, the stripes are red and yellow. On the bottom half the whole thing is blue and there is an orange star in the middle.

 Their state bird is the cactus wren. The cactus wren can step on the most sharpest cacti without having a single scratch on its feet. It usually nests in trees, and cacti.

 The saguaro blossom is the state flower. The only color that you can see them is white. Did you know that they can live for 8 years???

 Arizona’s state motto is Ditat Deus. Ditat Deus means “Good Enriches”. Richard Cunningham is one who made the motto in 1864.

 One of the most famous landmarks of Arizona is the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was made by the Colorado River. The water kept on eroding the ground until it made this massive canyon.
