Corporate slide master With guidelines for corporate presentations Andrew Williams, Online Safety Consultant, SWGfL Don’t Panic, Mr Mainwaring!

Teaching e-Safety is a statutory requirement in Wales “Children and young people need to be empowered to keep themselves safe – this isn’t just about a top down approach. Children will be children – pushing boundaries and taking risks. At a public swimming pool we have gates, put up signs, have lifeguards and shallow ends, but also teach children how to swim.” - Tanya Byron

What would you say if Estyn asked… Provide details of how the school ensures that pupils use the internet safely and know how to stay safe online. Do these resources: build knowledge, skills and capability? How do you assess their effectiveness?

What would be better? Think critically Behave safely Participate responsibly Ethical discussions Decision making Permanency & replication Grooming Digital cheating Cyberbullying Scalability

The Digital Literacy Resource - 1 June 2015 September 2015 October 2015 November 2015

The Digital Literacy Resource - 2 December 2015 January 2015 February 2015 March 2015

What would you say if Estyn asked these questions? What mechanisms does the school have in place to support pupils and staff facing issues with e-Safety? How does the school educate and support parents and the whole school community with e-Safety?

Welcome to 360 degree Safe Cymru

What would you say if Estyn asked… Are there clear reporting mechanisms with a set of actions in place for staff or pupils who feel they are being bullied online?
