Introduction to Apprenticeship 3 The No Child Left Behind Law Existing Paraprofessionals in Title 1 Schools by 1/8/06 must have a high school diploma or equivalent complete two years of study at an institution of higher education must have an AA degree or meet a rigorous state assessment of their ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math

Introduction to Apprenticeship 4 The No Child Left Behind Law New Paraprofessionals (hired after 1/8/02) must immediately Have completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, OR Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree, OR Meet a rigorous assessment by the state
