 We aspire for Rye Bay to be the place where people want to come and live and work;  where the local communities are strong, inclusive, self-reliant and economically active; and  where businesses thrive and are socially responsible. Our Vision

What is the Rye Partnership?  A not-for-profit company limited by guarantee;  A membership organisation with 42 members from 35 organisations and one individual member;  Members from all sectors;  knowledgeable board of directors.

Our Geographic Area  Coast and Rural areas  The Western end of the Romney Marsh  East Sussex and Kent

Our Challenges  Rural isolation;  Diminished coastal and riverside economy;  Transport links;  Educational attainment;  Childcare;  Hidden deprivation;  County and district boundaries.

Our Projects  Tilling Green Community Centre;  Rural Employability Project;  Community Learning;  Commercial lettings for marine related businesses and a village shop;  Working with local businesses to develop employment space;  Project management and employment of staff for partner organisations.

Developing Skills and Learning  Working with local businesses to identify skills gaps;  Building partnerships with skills and education providers;  Engaging the community in learning;  Developing learning opportunities to meet the skills gaps;  Dyslexia screening and support;  Developing apprenticeship opportunities.

 Identifying the barriers for businesses to employment and apprenticeships;  Working with partners to develop training for businesses;  Signposting businesses to business development funding and other services;  Working with businesses to develop new employment space. Working with Business
