The Game… Finding the lost temple of Angkor Wat The object is to find the location of the lost Temple of the Angkor Wat.

Finding the Temple…  Your object is to locate the exact place in Southeast Asia where the lost temple is. In order to locate it, you must piece together the clues from spies in various Southeast Asian locations.

How it is played…  You and a partner will work to decipher which places on the list you may receive a clue from.  After you have identified the correct city for each set of information, you will receive a clue from the spy in each city.  This clue will point you in a direction and combined with all of the clues, will lead to the final destination of Angkor Wat.

Rules…  I will reveal a clue to the cities about every 1-2 minutes.  If you don’t initially figure out where it is, you may work on the next one.  You may also work on them in any order.  The first pair to find out where the lost temple is located will receive bonus points and is done.

More rules…  It is important that you do not share your discoveries with other students in the class. Since you want to be the first group done, giving away your clues will hinder that and cause the game to not work as well  Just finishing the game is worth all 30 points. Quitting will not give you all the points.

You will receive this list to be used like a checklist. “The Places in Southeast Asia where the Spies with the clues are hiding…”  Manila, Philippines  Mandalay, Myanmar  Rangoon, Myanmar  Jakarta, Indonesia  Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam  Bandar Sari Begawan, Brunei  Mindanao, Philippines  Mekong River  Bali, Indonesia  Java, Indonesia  Pinatubo, Philippines  Da Nang, Vietnam  Bangkok, Thailand  Singapore, Singapore

ANY QUESTIONS…? IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE WE START… NOW IS THE TIME TO ASK….

List of Cities with Clues Place 1: Remains of ancient man reportedly found here OR the script with which your internet software works. Place 2: Very wealthy, tiny, yet prosperous Islamic capital. Place 3: This used to be Saigon, however the Communists thought a revolutionary name would suit better. Place 4: Won Ton crab OR a dually named capital. Place 5: Ali, Marcos, and MacArthur all returned to this Island city for one reason or another. Boxing, Shoes, Liberation: take your pick.

Place 6: Strict independent city-state where things are particularly “fine”. Place 7: This cities name sounds like a small stringed musical instrument often found in country or bluegrass music. Place 8: Island of Indonesia that has immense amounts of rainfall to accompany an occasional monstrous volcano. Place 9: a 1991 eruption here sent clouds of ash literally around the globe and smother Quezon City among others with a thick cloud of smoke, cinders and ashes. Place 10: A swampy, jungle river region where a US Marine would rather not return to.
