Terminal Learning Objective ACTION: Report Intelligence Information using the SALUTE Report. CONDITIONS: In a classroom environments, you will be given a S-A-L-U-T-E format and a block of instructions. STANDARDS: You will be evaluated on properly communicating Salute Report in 3 minutes with 100% accuracy.

Safety Requirements: Classroom hazards – tripping hazard, fire exits, etc. Risk Assessment Level: Low Environmental Considerations: None

EVALUATION You will be evaluated on properly communicating a Salute Report in 3 minutes with 100% accuracy.

Enabling Learning Objective #1 ACTION: Understand the importance of the Salute Report and familiarize yourself with the Salute Report. CONDITIONS: In a classroom environments, you will be given a S-A-L-U-T-E format and a block of instructions. STANDARDS: You will be evaluated on properly communicating Salute Report in 3 minutes with 100% accuracy.

Learning Steps Determine the (Size) of the enemy. Determine the (Activity) of your enemy. Determine the (Location) of your enemy. Determine the (Unit/Uniform) of your enemy. Determine the (Time) your enemy is seem. Determine the (Equipment) your enemy is using.

SALUTE SIZE:What is the size of the unit? - # of personnel - # of vehicles (highway, rail, etc.) - # of equipment ( tents, weapons, etc.)

SALUTE Activity: What are they doing? - Deploying - Redeploying - Sustainment activities - Training - Defense

SALUTE Location: Where are they located at? - Grid Coordinates - Airfield - Military Base (OP, Kaserne, etc.) - Terrain Association

SALUTE Unit/Uniform: What unit do they belong to? - Company - Battalion - Brigade - Division What Type of Uniforms do they have on? - BDU’s - MOPP Gear - Special Ops Gear

SALUTE Time: What time of day/night did you observe? - DTG - Zulu or Local MAY2001(L) 10 May (Z)

SALUTE Equipment: What type of equipment did you see? - Types of weapons (M16A1’s or M16A2’s) - Types of Vehicles (Humvee’s, 5 Ton Trucks) - Types of Aircraft ( AH-64’s, C-130’s) - Types of Gear (Parachutes, Alice Packs)

SAFETY Size:Given the wrong size of your enemy can be deadly. Activity: By not reporting their activity can set your unit or battalion up for failer. Location: The wrong location by cause friendly to fire upon your squad. Unit/Uniform: By not knowing if their uniform can cause you to mistake friendly from enemy. Time: Not given the right time when watching your enemy Equipment: Given the wrong equipment may set your battalion up for failer.
