ACSDA Strategy Renewal

๏ Updating our Vision 2009 statement (written in 2005) ๏ Setting 3- 4 objectives/priorities ๏ Setting strategies to support objectives ACSDA Strategy Renewal

To be a regional forum where members find solutions to meet their individual goals as well as contribute as a group to the safety, soundness and efficiency of financial markets post-trade infrastructure -– locally, regionally and globally. ACSDA Vision (2005)

2 Themes within the Vision ๏ Individual ACSDA members benefit from the solutions they find. ๏ The CSD and related industry (including ACSDA members) benefit from the work that ACSDA participates in.

Proposed 3 rd Theme for 2008 ๏ Update our dialogue with the global community by sharing our most significant regional initiatives. This will demonstrate the extent to which ACSDA and its members already qualify as full partners in the financial industry’s globalization. ๏ Supporting cross-border global investments into and among our markets, as well as our investors’ outreach to other regions

Key Practical Questions ๏ How can ACSDA work more productively? Issue of voluntary efforts, how to optimize members’ timing to ensure value. ๏ Draw parallels from other goups? ๏ Current issues and topics your organization needs to understand better? Why important to you? Can ACSDA help? ๏ How should ACSDA be investing its budget?

The explicit expectations in exchange for fees… ๏ Understand ACSDA offerings ๏ Network with colleagues from other depositories ๏ Share knowledge, experience and learning ๏ Benefit from the power of the collective e.g. achieve a larger voice and acquire information from one source, ACSDA

ACSDA’s Current Objectives ๏ Leverage ACSDA’s credibility, communicate on priority topics, increase visibility. ๏ Stimulate members to participate, better represent and promote the region. Share learning, experiences and best practices. ๏ Strengthen alliances and partnerships with influential groups. ๏ And acknowledging limits of voluntary work, is there an appetite to invest in more professional projects and research? So, putting this on a map….

How to Update ACSDA’s “Objectives Map”? Increase/Leverage CREDIBILITY and VISIBILITY Stimulate/Facilitate MEMBER PARTICIPATION Facilitate SHARING OF LEARNING Strengthen/Develop ALLIANCES & PARTNERSHIPS COMMUNICATE on priority topics Limited Resources Measure ACSDA’s 2007 General Assembly Reports within this Framework.
