C ONTEXT OF A GES 2.0 European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (launched in July 2011) Focus on three dimensions: 1. Assisted Living, 2. Social Inclusion, 3. Ageing in the Workplace 15 November AGES 2.0 focuses on the first two dimensions, moving towards a more positive conceptualization of ageing as an asset

R ATIONALE OF A GES 2.0 Social factors play a key role in protecting health and well-being of older people. ICT allows the elderly to move from a situation of loneliness… 15 November

R ATIONALE OF A GES 2.0 … to one that gives them greater opportunities for independence and social integration. 15 November AGES 2.0 is aimed to determine how ICT can be used more successfully to foster social communication and social inclusion in elderly community and care residents.

A GES 2.0 O BJECTIVES Determine whether a novel social media intervention (Easy PC), enhances the health and well-being of elderly in receipt of care through fostering social engagement and interaction. 15 November determine the degree of social engagement that Easy PC enables and determine the health and well-being outcomes associated with Easy PC use; determine the possibility of incorporating Easy PC as a social communication package for elderly people at territorial levels through a strategic up-scaling; disseminate the results of the study at local, national and EU levels
