The philosophy of HMP Parc is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release.

FURTHER EDUCATION A dedicated and committed professional team who offer one to one advice. Main objective is to supply the individual with qualifications and the tools of self worth to enhance their future career aspiration. Communicate and link with colleges enabling individuals to complete their courses, which in the past they have had to disregard due to their change of circumstances.

Expand and Further Develop Introduced an educational and training project committed to supporting offenders through their learning journey in prison and post release ie Turn Around Project To begin laying down the ground work and building a good rapport with the offender ‘inside the gates’ and supporting and encouraging the offender ‘outside the gates. Link in with both internal and external trainings agencies such as colleges and other training providers.

COLLEGE OPEN DAY College A successful Open/Advice day was held in April This has proven to be a very successful project for both parties concerned that has yielded excellent results. Two young offenders aged eighteen and nineteen respectively have attended formal interviews and were offered conditional college places to study A Levels in Business Studies, Law, German and an electrical engineering course. Ten young and adult offenders started the initial application process following discussions with the college staff. Support Support through the NUS is sought and an additional meeting was arranged to put support in place for offender prior and post release Student Well Being Officer/Inclusivity Coorindator Student Representation
