DIET Snurtles eat rodents or birds. They also eat plants. Snurtles are also omnivores. They kill their prey with there venomous fangs. Then, they take it in to their shell and swallow it whole.

ENVIRONMENT Snurtles live in the New Zealand rainforest. The bark there is very smooth so that the snurtle(s) can slither up a tree if in danger. It is very damp there.

STRUCTURES A snurtle has a shell, snake head, and tail. The shell helps the snurtle so that the snurtle can hide in it. A snurtle is a vertebrate and they lay their eggs in water. It moves by slithering and breathes through its lungs.

BEHAVIOR Snurtles put their heads in their shells when it gets scared because the shell is hard and it protects the snurtle. It hunts at night so that its victims don’t know when it is going to attack. A snurtle has a shell but it has a snake head and a tail also. Not all snurtles hibernate.

FIVE FUN FACTS SSSSnurtle fangs are very venomous. NNNNot all snurtles hibernate. UUUUnlike turtles snurtles lay their eggs underwater. SSSSnurtles are cold-blooded. SSSSnurtles are very aggressive.
