As I took the first step onto the glacier with my crampons on, the guide law came to mind: “A Guide has courage and is cheerful in all difficulties”. By the numbers…  There are 2.5 million girls and young women in Girl Guiding Girl Scouting in the AP Region  Friends of AP WAGGGS raised USD272K in the last 10 years  Bharat Scouts and Guides increased girl membership by 189,533 (15%)  Girl Scouts of Korea International Camp 2009 was attended by 10,000 participants from 42 countries  AP Leadership Awards have been presented to 754 leaders

 Regional Summit was attended by 73 adults and 26 girl participants  43 young women and adults from 16 MOs participated in Juliette Low Seminars and WLDP events  A total of 44 young women were given grants to attend regional events including 17 to the Regional Conference  4 young women from Girl Guides Australia were part of the delegation of 23 who represented WAGGGS at COP15  There are 3 AP Staff, with the Regional Director working from the World Bureau and 2 Development Executives in the region
