Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0 Dezhi Zhang, ZTE CorporationSlide 1 More Information On Four Chinese Bands Date: Authors: July 2011

Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0 Dezhi Zhang, ZTE CorporationSlide 2 Abstract This presentation is target to provide more information on four Chinese Bands listed in the ah PAR, and assist spectrum discussion. July 2011

Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0July 2011 Dezhi Zhang, ZTE CorporationSlide 3 Past discussion on Chinese band Related information presented in PAR 5.2 Scope: …… MHz, MHz, MHz, and MHz (China), …… The data rates defined in this amendment optimize the rate vs range performance of the specific channelization in a given band. This amendment also adds support for: transmission range up to 1 km data rates > 100 kbit/s S1G Spectrum Regulations Information from State Radio Regulatory Commission of the People’s Republic of China (SRRC) website [1] Some information has been posted to group in [2], from the same website [1]

Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0 Regulation Information Collection for four Bands listed in PAR Slide 4Dezhi Zhang, ZTE Corporation July 2011 Band Regulation requirements presented in [1] Transmission power limit Occupied bandwidth Frequency tolerance Equipment type MHz 10mW (erp) less than 400kHz- consumer devices in the wireless control device, Not be used for wireless control toys, model MHz (*1) 10mW (erp) less than 400kHz MHz 50mW (erp)less than 200kHz 100 × (*2) MHz 10mW (erp)-- consumer devices in the wireless control device, Not be used for wireless control toys, model *1: MHz is a recapitulative terminology. Instead, MHz and MHz are defined in [1] corresponding to ‘ MHz’ terminology. *2: Transfer data to meet their working hours the transmitter less than 5 seconds under the conditions, MHz band can be used as measuring instruments for civil use of radio frequency bands.

Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0 Cont’d, General requirements in [1] Slide 5Dezhi Zhang, ZTE Corporation July 2011 Spurious radiated emission measurement frequency range: The transmitter to the maximum power transmission Transmitter standby or idle state For more than 30MHz frequency band in the range specified at the upper and lower limits of radiation power less than -80dBm/Hz (eirp) Operating frequency rangeLower limit Limit 100MHz ~ 600MHz 30MHz10 harmonics 600MHz ~ 2.5GHz 30MHz12.75GHz Frequency RangeTest bandwidthLimits Rectification 30MHz ~ 1GHz 100kHz(3dB)-36dBm Effective value Frequency RangeTest bandwidthLimits Rectification 30MHz ~ 1GHz 100kHz(3dB)-47dBmEffective value

Submission doc.: IEEE 11-11/0972r0 Pros and Cons for four Bands ERP (50mW) in 470MHz-510MHz allows 7dB higher compared to 10mW (ERP limitation) of three other Bands, which supporting longer distance Still difficult to support 1km distance required in section “2.1.2 Coverage and data rate” of [3], so suggest to evaluate the coverage when developing PHY for these Bands Occupied bandwidth limitations 200KHz limitation in Band 470MHz-510MHz leads to limited date rate, may satisfy use case 1 categories, but hard to support use case 3 with up to 10Mbps 400KHz limitation in Band 314MHz~316MHz and 430MHz~434MHz doubles previous 200KHz, and provided limited date rate too No limitation in 779MHz~787MHz Slide 6Dezhi Zhang, ZTE Corporation July 2011
