Tel Aviv University - Industrial Engineering Department 1 Data Grid In Engineering TOC Grid Overview The PF5 definition: A very high-speed trans-European network for electronic scientific communications linking research institutions and universities, as well as scientific libraries, scientific centers and, progressively, schools. The system requirements. 2X2+1 layers Grid Schema and TAU solutions.

Tel Aviv University - Industrial Engineering Department 2 The system requirements The Hardware layer of GRID: - heterogeneous local and distributed systems and communication integration. The Data and software layer of GRID: - transparency, scalability, modularity, dynamic replication and semi-automatic dynamic indexing of databases and data sources. Varied Data types: Structure data, unstructured data The Data and software layer: - heterogeneous and multiplatform software environment. P2P instead of C2Server strategy. The Knowledge Layer of GRID: - Searching, discovery, accessing, sharing, comparing and consolidating of data. - self-extraction of meta data, inference from data to knowledge.

Tel Aviv University - Industrial Engineering Department 3 The 2x2+1 Layers Grid Schema + TAU Solution reference Iddle CPU Management Data Storage Management Databases Virtual Integration E-softaware and Web Services Hardware layer Software&Data layer Knowledge layer Knowledge Management The DM decomposition methods The semantic GRID Algorithms The Vertical Communication Layer – Hardware component The Vertical Communication Layer – Software& Data component The Vertical Communication Layer –Semantic GRID component

Tel Aviv University - Industrial Engineering Department 4 The IE-TAU Solution KDD and DM The TAU IT Research solution proposes resolving of a better allocation on-demands of CPU and data-storage management by decomposition methodologies and module detection methods. The Databases and other data resources accessing, replication and indexing layer, could be better managed by decomposition methodologies and by module changes detection methods. The knowledge layer and all its functionality could be resolved by an ontological semantic knowledge-based algorithms integrated with KDD and DM infrastructure based on decomposition methodologies. 2 2x +1 Layer

Tel Aviv University - Industrial Engineering Department 5 The Motivation to the IT Research of TAU Solution Extensive distributed data to be managed over the GRID grid-based distributed data mining algorithms Decomposition methods spectrum focuses on divides modules to be composed into the comprehensive module from the view point of the GRID system. Module and data detection algorithms face the dynamic changes through the GRID life cycle in the aspects of data and knowledge management and the hardware resources management. Searching of data, Collaboration and user-profiles interests, should be treated by semantic knowledge-based methods THANK YOU FOR ATTENTION. Prof Oded Maimon and his team have extensive theoretical and practical KDD & DM activities. The KDD and DM book WEB site: For more details: Daniel Cohen – The IT Research Laboratory Engineer
