How to upgrade Nymi Band firmware

Step 1 Go to and download the firmware update file. *N.B. The web page may say the firmware is version 1.0.2, but you will be downloading version 1.0.3, as will be clear in the file name. This error will be fixed as soon as possible after the holidays.

Step 2 Open the Nymi Companion Application and activate your Nymi Band. If you haven’t completed the set-up process, you will have to do that first. Click “Update” on the left-hand menu.

Step 3 Click “Select update file” and navigate on your computer to the location where you saved the firmware file.

Step 4 Once the firmware file has been selected, click “Begin update”. The update process will take approximately 2 minutes.

Step 5 It’s important that your Nymi Band remain near your computer during this time to ensure clear communication over Bluetooth.

Step 6 The upgrade process will complete by installing the new firmware on your Nymi Band. This will only take a few seconds. *N.B. If you leave the Nymi Companion running in the background, the application may time out. The firmware upgrade will still complete if you have reached this step. Simply re-launch the Nymi Companion and see Step 8 for where to find your firmware version.

Step 7 Click “Finish” proceed to Step 8 to verify that the firmware upgrade was successful.

Step 8 Following the upgrade, you must restart the application. Close the Nymi Companion and re-launch it.

Step 9 Open the Nymi Companion and activate your Nymi Band. Click “Update” on the left-hand menu.

Step 10 Look on the Update page to verify that the new firmware version says “010003”. Your Nymi Band’s Firmware update is now complete.
