CCPS Workforce Development Programme Update Judith Midgley, CCPS Workforce Associate

Workforce Development Programme Aims Capacity Building : To work in collaboration with SSSC and other key partners in order to build workforce capacity and leadership in voluntary sector social services providers. Influence : To improve the impact voluntary sector social service providers are able to make on the national workforce policy agenda, through acting as a voice of, and advocating for, their interests.

Leadership Capacity Building – ‘Step into Leadership’, ACOSVO research & exchanges, Local Practitioners. Influence – ‘Step into Leadership’ middle managers reference group, HR benchmarking survey, Strathclyde University research, CCPS Provider Optimism survey

Self-directed support Capacity Building – through Providers & Personalisation programme, workshops, business support (HR & Finance) events. Influence – SDS Workforce Board and implementation sub-groups

Integration Capacity Building – awareness raising through workshops, newsletters, website and 1:1 interviews Influence – Position Paper, presentations, indicators for ‘engaged workforce’ outcome

Registration and Regulation Capacity Building – awareness raising of housing support & care at home registration timetable & online tool, Care Inspectorate workforce requirements, VSDF. Influence – NOS for commissioning. procuring & contracting consultation, National Care Standards consultation, SSSC Workforce Data group.
