Presentation transcript:

Chupacabra It is the legendary animal that comes from the Latin America, an object of the research of the cryptozoology, which existence could not be reliably confirmed

Where? Its alleged occurrence is associated with Puerto Rico (where the very first information about this phenomenon came from), Mexico and the southern states of the USA. The name of this animal comes from the fact that it attacks pets and suck the blood out of them.

What is it? It is described by alleged witnesses as a large and heavy animal of the size of a small bear with a variety of spines on the back extending from the neck to the base of the tail. According to other witnesses the creature is unnaturally fast and can jump over the trees. The cryptozoologists suggest that the Chupacabra is supposedly an unknown species of animal or an alien. There is also a theory, according to which the attack of Chupacabra is accompanied by strange signs in the sky.

What is Chupacabra like? The most common description of the Chupacabra is a reptile-like creature, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. This form stands approximately 3 to 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) high, and stands and hops in a similar fashion to a kangaroo. At least one witness said that the creature has hopped at least 20 feet (6 m) in just one leap. A few people say that the creature has a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue, and large fangs. It is said to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as a sulfuric stench can be smelled near the place where it was. When it screeches, some report that the Chupacabra's eyes glow with an unusual red light which makes the witnesses nauseous.

History of Chupacabra Legend of Chupacabra arose in 1987 when Puerto Rican newspapers El Vocero and El Nuevo Dia reported deaths of many animals of different species such as birds, horses and goats. The newspapers gave the creature a name of „El Vampiro de Moca” (The Vampire of Moca) which was allegedly responsible for similar events that took place in the small town of Moca in the 70s of the twentieth century. At first it seemed that the animals were killed by members of a satanic cult, but later similar cases began to occur again throughout the whole island - many farmers reported some of their farm animals missing. All cases had one thing in common - each of the killed animals had no blood.
