Ladybug Lessons

A ladybug is an insect. There are two things that make a ladybug an insect. It has three body parts. Head Thorax Abdomen It has six legs.

Ladybugs are interesting insects. They come in many different colors. The most common colors are: Red Yellow Orange Ladybugs have spots on their wings. The spots are symmetrical.

Ladybugs Have Wings Ladybugs have two sets of wings. They have “outside” wings. These wings are colored. They protect the “inside” wings. They have “inside” wings. These are transparent. Ladybugs use these wings to fly.

They play dead so birds will not eat them. They secrete fluid from their bodies. This fluid tastes bad to other insects and birds. Ladybugs Protect Themselves

Ladybugs are helpful insects. We need ladybugs because they eat aphids. Aphids are harmful insects. Aphids eat… vegetables strawberries plants
