Film Critique 1st year

Femur Standard views *AP *Lateral

AP Proximal Right Femur

AP Distal Right Femur

Structures Shown AP projection to include the entire length of the femur from hip joint to knee joint or one joint per two films.

AP Left Femur Proximal Distal

AP Right Proximal Femur

AP RT Distal Femur

Check for: A majority of the femur and either the knee or hip joint (the one closest to the injury or suspected pathology) should be on the 14 X17. Little or none of the lesser trochanter should be seen beyond the medial edge of the femur. Femoral neck (to see this the toes need to be inverted on AP proximal view). Check knee for rotation on distal view. Shielding: Be careful!! Orthopedic appliance should be seen from tip to end

Lateral Right Proximal Femur

Lateral Right Distal Femur

Structures Shown Lateral projection to include the entire length of the femur and the knee or hip joint or both if they fit.

Lateral Right Proximal femur

Lateral Right Distal Femur

Check for: A majority of the femur and either the knee or hip joint (the one closest to the injury or suspected pathology) should be on the 14X17. Orthopedic appliance should seen from tip to end. Check knee for rotation. Check hip for thigh overlap
