Topic Sentence: Should not be too specific. Example: This monolingual dictionary contains more than 42,000 words. (Limits the topic too much-there is nothing else for the writer to say.)
Topic Sentence: Should not be too general. Example: The earth is round. (Is not a good topic sentence.)

The Body (Supporting Ideas): Every sentence must be directly related to the topic sentence. Give information about the topic sentence. Give details or examples.
